Underaged Drinking

College is tough. It's even tougher and more challenging when facing an underaged drinking charge. If this is you, it's likely your educational institution has been notified and will be contacting you soon. More importantly, law enforcement likely gave you a citation or in extreme cases arrested you. That's scary. I can help.

We need to discuss what happened, how this might affect your enrollment, career opportunities, and the steps we can take to create a better outcome. If you do nothing, you will likely become more stressed. But as soon as you call my office when can start taking steps in the right direction.

Common Questions

Will this remain on my record?
It depends on how many charges you have had. Among other things, it depends on how the case is resolved, such as with a conditional discharge, deferred prosecution, or informal agreement. But generally if this is your first charge or conviction, there are opportunities to expunge the charge at the appropriate time. This isn't always the case. Either way, the first step is discussing your options to resolve the case. Call now.

It's only a drinking charge, why can't I represent myself?

Well, you can. And you're right it is only a drinking charge. But most times, it is a criminal offense, which means a conviction will result in a criminal record. A broken arm will heal on it's own. But you would still go to the doctor to get X-Rays and get a medical opinion. Do the same for a simple drinking charge because the risks are high. You do not want to graduate college with a criminal record.
